FOLLOW UP
AND AFTERCARE PROGRAM
The recovery process from drug dependency is viewed as one of incremental change or learning, whereby the individual’s progress in treatment is marked by stages of change or phases of treatment. After the patient graduated from the first phase of rehabilitation, which is the residential phase, he then proceeds to the Trial Re-entry phase that would last for three (3) months. During this phase, the patient returns to his family but would return on Saturdays to attend seminars and workshops that would strengthen his relapse prevention skills and assist him go through the transition. Likewise, families participate to separate seminar in which Codependency is addressed. From this, he then gradually emancipates himself from the DOH TRC - BICUTAN and advance to the Follow Up and After Care phase in which the patient is required to report to the center or to recommended facility / support group once a month OR as often as he is required for follow up services as provided by RA 9165.
